Fine for blocking road during minor accident

DUBAI – Motorists in the UAE involved in minor accidents should move their vehicle off the road or risk getting fined AED 200, a Ministry of Interior official said.
The new law came into effect on September 15 to avoid traffic obstruction and reduce traffic congestion.
Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of the Traffic Coordination Department at Ministry of Interior, said that the Federal Traffic Law stipulates that “in the event of a traffic accident that does not result in a physical injury, parties involved shall park their vehicles in the nearest location that does not obstruct traffic.”
