Mind your parking time at Dubai airports

DUBAI – Don’t leave your car for more than three months at Dubai aiports or else you will face a hefty fine and your vehicle could be auctioned off, a Dubai Airports official said.
The maximum allowable period for parking at Dubai International Airports Car Park A (Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3) and at the Al Maktoum International is one month. At Car Park B, Terminal 1 of Dubai International airport, vehicles may be parked for up to three months.
Anyone who parks their car beyond the time limit will be fined AED 1,000 in addition to parking charges and a towing charge of AED 500, the official said. After due procedures, abandoned vehicles are towed away and can be auctioned off by the Dubai Police.
Authorities have been trying to crack down on motorists who abandon their vehicles at the airport parking areas. Between July 2013 and May 2014, 70 vehicles were left unclaimed at Dubai International.
