Dubai Metro turns 5: Where to win prizes

DUBAI - If you are planning to take the Dubai Metro on September 9, it could be your lucky day.
On the fifth anniversary of the world’s first driverless train, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will be giving away up to 10,000 gifts at five stations along the Red Line and Green Line.
Winners will be selected randomly from NOL card users. Users simply need to tap the NOL card on the e-gate and a voice notification will tell them they have won a surprise gift. The RTA will also issue limited edition NOL cards.
Contests
The RTA is also holding a contest called Metro Congrats for children aged 5. Participants can submit video footage congratulating the Dubai Metro. Videos must be uploaded on Instagram with the hashtag #MetroTurns5. Five winners will be given a gold coin bearing the metro logo. The coin is worth AED 10,000.
A second contest, called Metro Baby, is open to children born on September 9, 2009, the day the Dubai Metro was launched.
Participants need to upload a baby photo of their child born on the same date and share the photo on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #IAmAMetroBaby, and send a copy of the child’s birth certificate to socialmedia@rta.ae. Five winners and three of their family members will be rewarded with a trip to Disneyland Paris.
