Body of child in poisoning case to be sent home
Staff Report
DUBAI - The father of a three-year-old Filipino girl who died from a pesticide poisoning in Dubai will be repatriating her body tonight.
Aaliyah Bella died of complications on Thursday. She was one of five people treated for pesticide poisoning at Zulekha Hospital in Al Nahda on July 28, when toxic pesticide fumes from a neighbouring apartment leaked into their home. The incident killed a Filipino man that day.
Bella's father and mother are scheduled to fly to the Philippines tonight. Funeral services will reportedly be held in a church in the family's hometown of Marikina. She will be buried on Sunday.
