$120,000 top prize in UAE photography contest

DUBAI – Thousands of photography enthusiasts in the UAE and around the world are expected to participate in the fourth season of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award.
A $120,000 (AED440,400) grand prize is at stake. This year’s theme is “Life in Colour”, with four categories: Life in Colour, General/Entrants’ Choice, Faces and Night Photography.
The competition is open for online submissions until December 31. Participants may register through www.hipa.ae. Winners will be announced in a public ceremony on March, 2015.
Rules
Participants must be individuals aged at least eighteen years old
Participants may submit up to one photo in each category of the competition. Each photo must have a title. Photos must be original and not previously used for any kind of commercial purposes
Submitted photo(s) must be in JPEG format, of a minimum 2 MB in size and should not portray offensive contents
Black and white photos are allowed
All submitted photos must not contain any tags, signatures, initials, frames, logos or any other marks added by the participant
Basic technical editing of photos is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity or genuineness of the photos
