Nomination for Filipino advocacy award opens

DUBAI – Do you know any media institution or practitioner who deserves an award for taking up the cause of Filipino Overseas Workers? You can send your nomination to the Commission on Filipinos Overseas’ Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards 2014.
The CFO will be accepting nominations until October 15. The MAM Awards was created to “recognize the significant role of the media in information dissemination and advocacy of news and concerns related to migration and development”, the CFO said in a statement. Those eligible for the awards are individuals, government and private media outlets, institutions and practitioners in the fields of print, radio, movie and television, advertising and internet based in the Philippines and abroad, with works that have raised public awareness on issues on Filipino migration, advocated the cause of Filipinos overseas, or promoted a positive image of Filipinos overseas. The awards consist of six categories: print journalism, radio journalism, TV, film, web and advertising.
